Privacy

Most privacy policies exist to soften what a company collects. Ours is short because there isn't much to soften.

Effective: at general availability · Last updated: July 2026

The short version: Sqwig checks spelling on your users' devices. Their text never reaches our servers — not to check it, not to "improve our models," not at all. We can't read what we never receive.

What the Sqwig component sends us

Nothing. The component makes no requests to Sqwig servers — not on load, not ever. Your license key is a signed token verified offline, in code, on the device; there is no license "ping" and no phone-home. The dictionary and spellcheck engine are static assets downloaded to the device and run locally. You can verify all of this yourself in your browser's network tab at any time.

What this website collects

What we never do

Service providers

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the business: hosting and content delivery (Cloudflare), and — once purchasing is live — a payment processor for billing. Each receives only what is necessary to perform its function. We do not use advertising or analytics networks that build profiles.

Data retention and your rights

Account and correspondence data are kept while your account is active and as required for legal and accounting purposes, then deleted. You may request a copy or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing hello@sqwig.com. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (such as the EU/EEA, UK, or California), those rights apply and we will honor them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above changes with it, and material changes will be announced to account holders by email. The core promise — user text never leaves the browser in the base product — is architectural, not aspirational; any future feature that transmits text (such as optional premium AI features) will be opt-in and clearly labeled before a single character is sent.
